Most Title Defenses in Heavyweight Boxing History

In heavyweight boxing, winning a world title is a huge accomplishment but real greatness is demonstrated by how long a champion can keep it. Lots of boxers have won the belt but only a select few have successfully defended it against numerous challengers. That’s what distinguishes legends from those who are just champions for a short time. Joe Louis holds the record for the most title defenses in heavyweight boxing history, successfully defending his championship 26 times.
