Kento Momota had an incredible 2019 season, which was truly one of the most impressive years in badminton history. He started strong by winning the German Open and just kept the momentum going. Throughout that year, he claimed nearly every major title including the All England Open, the Japan Open, the Asian Championships and he even defended his World Championship title in Basel. What made his performance even more remarkable was his consistency. He achieved back-to-back victories in various countries such as the Singapore, Korea, Denmark, Fuzhou China, and Hong Kong Opens showing that he could adapt to any situation and defeat top competitors even in their own backyards. By the end of the year, he had amassed a record-breaking 11 titles which earned him a Guinness World Record for the most badminton titles in single season. He capped off the year by winning the BWF World Tour Finals in Guangzhou and solidifying his status as the best player in the world that year.
